For our first winter holidays in our new home, I went with a rich, warm, rosy look full of purple and burgundy with little touches of sparkle. These colors perfectly reflected the existing style of the dining room. The table was covered with a purple brocade cloth accented by dark reddish brocade placemats.
The centerpiece was a crystal biscuit barrel filled with deep red velvet poinsettias that were dusted with a hint of gold glitter. On either side stood crystal candleholders with red textured tapers. All of these were surrounded with clusters of faux grapes in jewel and metallic tones.

Above the picture window, I hung a faux greenery garland woven with silver star wire and two kinds of burgundy wired ribbon -- I reused the ribbons from the aisle bows I made for our wedding! Twined in the garland was a string of purple mini lights.
