For our first winter holidays in our new home, I wanted to put up a few lights on the front of the house. Over the summer, I had bought strings of red mini lights, thinking I could use them for both Halloween and Christmas. While I didn't use them in October, I did line the living room picture window, the front door, and the porch with red lights. It was like our very own Red Light District!

On the door, I hung a grapevine wreath. I had painted it gold long ago, but this year, I stripped off the old decorations and wrapped it in burgundy wired ribbon (rescued from our wedding aisle bows ;-).
