About Our House

This is the very first house Thomas and I have owned, so it's pretty special for us. It's a two bedroom, one bath bungalow built in 1947. The house is about 1,232 sq. feet, not including the detached two-car garage and studio, and the lot is in the 6,500 to 8,000 sq. ft. range.

The previous owners took pretty good care of this house and made many upgrades. It has beautiful hardwood floors throughout, except for the kitchen and laundry room, which have lovely stone tile floors, and the bathroom which has an updated vinyl floor. All the windows except the kitchen and bathroom ones have been replaced in the past few years with modern, dual-pane windows, and the living room and dining room windows all came with Hunter-Douglas blinds. The living room has a wood-burning fireplace. Both the living and dining rooms have crown molding, and the whole house has classic baseboards and window and door trim.

The house has a small front yard and a larger backyard. The back has two large, old citrus trees (orange and lemon), reminiscent of the orchards that once covered the Valley of Heart's Delight, today known as Silicon Valley.

We live in an older neighborhood near downtown and just off major streets with plenty of shopping and restaurants. The area has some history to it, and we find it quite charming!
