The Ceremony ~ Wedding Party

You'll get mixed up of course,
as you already know.
You'll get mixed up
with so many strange birds as you go.
~~ Dr. Seuss

These are a few of the wonderful strange birds we shared our day with. Friends from childhood, friends from adulthood, friends forever. These are the people who have supported us, made us laugh, given us shoulders to cry upon, and who we treasure always.

Thomas, Trystan, James

Officiant:
Our dear friend, James Thomas, became a minister for a day at our request. We knew no-one else could perform our ceremony with such eloquence.

Best Woman:
Trystan asked Irina Ozernoy to be her Best Woman (or maid of honor, if you prefer) at the wedding. Irina and Trystan were college roommates (and sorority sisters, but Irina hates it when anyone finds that out).

Elisa, Irina, Trystan, Kelly

Brideswomen:
Standing up for Trystan were Kelly LoGiudice, who Trystan and Thomas met when she moved West to be with Scott, and Elisa Jensen, who has known Trystan since junior high school (longer than pretty much anyone else who's not a blood relative!).

Best Man:
Thomas' Best Man was Michael Snyder. They've been great friends since junior high, and Michael asked Thomas to be his Best Man at Michael's wedding two weeks before ours.

Groomsmen:
Standing up for Thomas were Chris Allen, a friend met through work at Global Village and then Aveo, and Scott Youmans, who Thomas and Trystan met along with Kelly when Scott joined their live-action vampire role-playing game.

Right: Thomas, Mike, Chris, Scott

Readers at the Ceremony:
We asked Trystan's friend Janet Canning to read a poem that Trystan wrote in graduate school, and we asked Thomas' mom, Mary Lord, to read a poem Thomas wrote specifically for the wedding. We also asked Scott to read a selection from Dr. Seuss' book, Oh, the Places You'll Go!

All photographs on this page were taken by the very talented professional photographer, Erica Z. Connors. We highly recommend her!
