However, we did customize their outfits too. Each groomsman bought a Douglas Grey tartan scarf to wear as a sash across his chest. We got the tartan scarves from The Scottish Shop in San Francisco. The sash was worn over the right shoulder, on top of the white shirt and under the morning coat itself. The fastened on the left, at the waist, with either a safety pin from underneath or with a fancy brooch. The groomsmen did not wear waistcoats, and instead of ties, they had a black button cover on the neck button.
