Setting the Stage ~ Officiant's Outfit

Our wedding officiant was a good friend of ours, James Thomas. He is not really a religious official or a justice of the peace -- he's just the very best person we would ever want to perform our ceremony. In order to do so legally, he became a minister of the Universal Life Church, which allows anyone to sign-up and become a minister for free and with no other work than to fill out a form online. We were very grateful to James for taking this unusual step for us.

Because we are not religious, we felt it would be silly and hypocritical to ask James to wear anything resembling a robe or vestments. But we didn't want him to dress just like the rest of the men in the wedding party. He needed something elegant and unique, to go along with his unique role in our wedding.

Thomas picked out this great collar-less formal suit, similar to a tuxedo, yet different enough for our wedding. James rented this outfit from Gingiss Formalwear.

Photograph of Thomas, Trystan, & James on this page was taken by the very talented professional photographer, Erica Z. Connors. We highly recommend her!
