The Reception ~ Decor
Reception Site: The Lounge and Corinthian Room at Capital Club in downtown San Jose.

Centerpieces: We used a circle of five white pillar candles, each one resting on a CD to any catch wax drips (the CDs themselves were returns from the first CD project at Riffage, the music dot-com where Trystan worked). In the center was a tall glass candlestick with a white taper candle in it. Around the base of all of these were greenery, dark red roses, and silver leaves.

Trystan found all the candles and candlesticks on sale at Michaels Arts and Crafts, and the greenery, roses, and leaves were provided by our floral designer, Marilyn Kromrey.

For the head table, we re-used the silver unity candle items, and Marilyn provided clips to hold the bride's and two brideswomen's bouquets along the edge of the table (the other bouquet was put on the cake table). Marilyn also put a lovely green garland along the edge of the head table. The Capital Club moved the faux marble pillars topped with giant ferns from the ceremony room to the ends of the head table as well.

We rented black tablecloth toppers, which were a beautiful contrast to the candles, red roses, silver leaves, and the burgundy favour boxes on the tables.

Table Cards: Designed these ourselves and printed them at home. We named the tables instead of numbering them. Each table was named after a city we'd visited together, and we put a photo and some text on the back of the sign, to tell people when we were there and what we liked about that city. Here's the complete text and more pictures of all the table signs.

Table Assignment Cards: Guests found their way to the tables with these assignment cards. We printed these at home on business card stock that matched the program paper from JC Paper in San Jose.
