I'll Stop the World and Melt With You

Thomas' POV:
Have I mentioned before that our wedding attendants did indeed rock? Unbeknownst to anyone at the time, Mike, Chris, and Scott were scheming to roast us by decorating my car with white shoe polish and whatever else they could get their hands on, I'm sure. Thanks to logistical issues and Mike's intuition of knowing I probably wouldn't appreciate shoe polish being strewn on my nice blue car, they avoided this task in the end, instead leaving the bottle of polish first on top of the head table near my place, then lastly ON my chair at the head table for me to find.

That little almost-prank explained, one other amazing thing was taking place behind the scenes, which was conveyed to me most recently two days after I got back from our honeymoon. Apparently Chris and Mike had bought a flask with a long wick inserted in a metal tube in its center -- a long-burning oil lamp. Just after the ceremony ended, they took the unity candle that we'd lit and lit the lamp. Their plan from that moment forth, albeit lofty and extremely challenging, was to try and keep this lamp lit *the entire time* we were gone on our honeymoon, to be presented, still burning, to me upon my return to Aveo, where all three of us work. Alas, this too was not to be. The minute they stepped out of the Capital Club, (not surprisingly) the flame went out immediately ... this seemed symbolic of a celebration ending, which is fine by me. Our wedding ceremony, long over, our thoughts were now euphoric enough, and all the while transitioning from 'wedding' to 'honeymoon.' Trystan and I have decided that now on every anniversary we will light the candle in celebration of our blessed and happy day. Did I mention how cool our friends are, again?? :-)
